we do. so they can.

 What We Do

It is not what you do for your children,

but what you have taught them to do for themselves,

that will make them successful human beings.

Long-term Financial Support

The Human Resources Center Foundation provides long-term funding support for programs and services at HRC.  Specifically, HRF provides financial support for the following HRC programs:

  • HRC Summer Camp Program - Pocono Mountain School District
  • HRC American Sign Language Training and Social Club Program - Honesdale

  • Consumer Support Services - these are commonly services that may not be covered by a waiver for an individual, in which HRF will provide direct support for an individual in need.  Examples include, extensive staff support during a medical procedure; special excursions; continuing education.

Public Project Grants

HRF understands that the need to support HRC's clients goes beyond the organization's doors, and into the communities where they reside.  We recognize that there are many local nonprofit organizations in our area doing excellent work to help make our region more inclusive and supportive to all, and for that reason, HRF offers small one-time grants annually to support initiatives that meet the following guidelines:

  • Eligible applicants include 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that reside in Wayne, Monroe, Pike,                  Susquehanna, Lackawanna or Carbon County.

  • The project will take place in one of the six counties and will provide proven support toward at least                             one of e following areas of interest: community integration, workplace mentorship, continued education                opportunities, home modifications, and/or supportive living arrangements

  • The project has proven success and/or projected impact that will show how it empowers the lives                                    of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
